Hi, my name is Mark Jardine.
I am...
- a designer.
radiantmars.com - I currently work for Oakley as a user interface designer and freelance on occasion. My focus is primarily on web interface design, web standards, and branding. I do print work as well, but it’s not something I focus on. I love the web as a medium because of it’s constant evolving nature and technical aspects (It keeps me on my toes!).
- an artist.
taeun.deviantart.com - My design career was born from my passion in drawing. I don’t draw as much these days because most of my time is taken up by design, but it’s something I have always loved since I was a kid. Most of my artwork and style is inspired by my interest in Japanese animation and manga.
- a blogger.
radiantmark.com - I was once told in grade school that I am a very creative writer. Unfortunately, I never really took writing seriously growing up so I’m not very good at it. The written language is one of the most powerful forms of communication and goes hand in hand with almost anything you want to accomplish in life. I blog to express myself freely in written words and practice my writing.
- a photographer.
flickr.com/photos/radiantmark - I'm not a very good photographer, but it’s something I love to do and want to get better at. I currently shoot with a Canon Digital Rebel XT. It makes a great starter camera and should fulfill my needs for years to come.
- a mac fanboy.
- A different kind of fanboy. I’ve used Windows much longer than I have used a mac. In fact, when I was in school, I couldn’t stand macs. But after a few releases of OS X, I was sold. Now, I could never go back to using Windows on a daily basis. Superior OS, inspiring software, and beautiful hardware. What’s not to like?
- an otaku.
- I’m not an otaku in the truest sense of the term, but I have always loved japanese comics and animation. I love how they tell a story using the fewest strokes possible. I find the artwork beautiful and have grown up mimicking the style in my own art.
- a gamer.
- I’ve been a gamer since the Atari 2600. I’ve owned almost every major gaming system released since then at one point or another. I think my interest and understanding of graphics came from playing video games since the early days. I don’t have that much time to play these days, but I do put a few hours a week into my xbox 360.
